My partner and I were on the tour with another couple and we each had our own rider. They picked us up and took us through the crazy traffic, down small back alleys and through parts of the city we definitely wouldn’t have found on our own. Even though the traffic looks wild, the drivers were really experienced and the ride never felt too dangerous.
The guides were really friendly and informative the whole night, giving us lots of information about the city and explaining the food we were trying at each stop.
All the food stops were local places that you probably wouldn’t notice if you were just walking past, and every spot we went to had amazing food. It felt like a proper local experience rather than just tourist restaurants.
Overall an awesome experience. Great food, great guides and a really fun way to see the city at night. I’d definitely recommend doing this if you’re visiting Ho Chi Minh

Wycieczka po mieście i lokalnym jedzeniu była jak jazda rollercoasterem… tylko zamiast strachu były śmiech, zachwyt i pełny brzuch.
Jeździliśmy tam, gdzie normalny turysta nigdy by nie trafił, jedliśmy rzeczy, o których nie wiedziałem, że są mi tak bardzo potrzebne do szczęścia, a wszystko w super luźnej, przyjaznej atmosferze. Zero nudy, zero „turystycznej ściemy” – samo prawdziwe, lokalne Sajgon vibes.

We had a blast with Michael and Ky earlier this week. So much great local food from family-run (and often legacy) businesses. Sunshine Tours will take you off the beaten path. Come hungry!
We did the morning tour and got to try so many local breakfast favourites paired with local drinks. Everything is included in this tour and they handle the cash payments for you at each stop, which was really convenient. Along with friendliness & insightful info on HCM and their lives here, Michael and Ky also always provided wet towels and napkins and were able to find us a washroom stop in the middle.
We were lucky to have taken a tour with business-owner Michael, who puts so much thought, planning, and care into his tours. You can tell he has cultivated real relationships with many of the local businesses here. Listening to him talk about how he runs his business and trains his team is inspiring.
He also takes time to thoughtfully modify the tour based on the guest. We also really enjoyed being hosted by a now-locally based Việt kiều – he truly knows how to bridge between different perspectives. As fellow folks in diaspora, it meant a lot to be able to relate to a guide who grew up with similar experiences and travel interests as us and is creatively forging his own path and community in VN.
He and Ky were also very safe drivers. There’s nothing like riding through HCM via motorbike with the locals! We also appreciate his energetic and informative posts on Instagram, which is where we heard about his company. A true highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to book again the next time we are in town.

We booked Taste of the City tour and it was amazing! We tasted multiple street foods in 4 hrs, that would have taken us days to cover on our own. In addition, we were able to visit a temple, and see sights that are only available via scooter. We felt the energy and vibe of the city on a scooter. Mike is an excellent guide, and he is the real deal: He is authentic as his IG clips. We researched the competition, and decided on Sunshine because of Mike’s energy and authenticity. We didn’t want to go to “Michelin” places that we could go to on our own. We highly recommend Sunshine to our family & friends.
