Flying in Vietnam soon? New power bank rules start on July 1, and many travelers still don’t know about them.
🔋 You can only bring up to 2 power banks onboard.
🔋 Power banks must be removed from your carry-on bag and kept visible during the flight.
🔋 You cannot use them to charge your phone or other devices while in the air.
🔋 Charging your power bank during the flight is also prohibited.
What’s allowed?
✅ Power banks up to 100Wh are allowed without approval.
⚠️ Power banks between 100Wh and 160Wh require airline approval before your flight.
❌ Power banks over 160Wh are not allowed onboard.
For most travelers, this means common power banks around 10,000mAh to 20,000mAh are usually fine, but larger high-capacity models could cause problems at check-in.
The new rules are designed to reduce the risk of lithium battery fires and improve safety for everyone onboard.
What do you think about these new rules? Fair enough or too strict?
