Tan Son Nhat Is Getting A Major Upgrade! ✈️

Vietnam is planning one of the biggest upgrades in Tan Son Nhat Airport’s history.
The 60-year-old Terminal 1, first built in the 1960s, could be demolished and completely rebuilt with a modern multi-story terminal, an underground tunnel connecting directly to Terminal 3, more passenger space, integrated parking, commercial areas, and a dedicated VIP terminal for private jets.
The new terminal is expected to handle both domestic and international flights, helping reduce congestion and improve the travel experience at Vietnam’s busiest airport. ACV also confirmed Tan Son Nhat will continue operating at a capacity of 50 million passengers a year, even after Long Thanh International Airport opens.
At the moment, the proposal is still in the feasibility study stage. No final approval or construction timeline has been announced.
Vietnam continues to invest heavily in its infrastructure, making travel smoother and preparing for the country’s future growth.
What improvements would you like to see at Tan Son Nhat Airport?
