Vietnam is introducing several new entry rules from July 1, and if you’re travelling here soon, these are the updates you need to know:
✅ 1. New Health Declaration Requirement
All travellers entering, leaving, or transiting through Vietnam may be required to complete a health declaration before travel. This applies regardless of your nationality, visa type, or airline.
✅ 2. Extra Health Checks at the Border
Arrivals should be prepared for temperature checks, health screenings, and in some cases, requests for vaccination records. If you arrive showing symptoms of illness, you may be asked additional questions about your travel history and health condition.
✅ 3. Ho Chi Minh City Travellers Have an Extra Step
If you’re flying into Ho Chi Minh City, don’t confuse the existing airport QR arrival form with the new health declaration. They are two separate requirements and you’ll need to complete both to avoid delays at immigration.
🎁 Bonus Update: New Visa Categories Are Coming Too
Vietnam is also introducing new visa categories aimed at attracting highly skilled digital and technology professionals, along with visas for their immediate family members.
The good news? Vietnam’s 90-day multiple-entry e-visa remains in place for all nationalities eligible for the program, and visa-free entry continues for many countries.
Vietnam is keeping its doors open while adding extra health measures for travellers.
